Spring Swings!

It's baseball season. Robby and I went to Eastern's park to see a game. It's good to watch free baseball.

Hooray 5K

Be careful -- here come some self - praising. If you don't like me as much as I like me, you may find this post to be a bit too much me centered. But if you like me, you'll love it, I swear!

Last September I weighed 215 lbs. I was standing in my bathing suit on the scale at the YMCA. I literally said to myself: "Nope -- your not a 215 lb person".

A few days earlier I had run a 5K with Christina in Ashford and Finished in a little under 30 minutes. When I was 17, I did 3 miles in under 24 minutes. I decided I needed a change.

I sat down after that and made two goals that I wanted to reach before I was 40. One of which was to run a 5K in under 24 minutes.

Since then I've lost over 35 lbs. I'm not about 175 - 180 lbs, depending on what was for dinner. Today, I ran my first official 5K since I made that goal.

It was in New Brunswick, NJ. The weather was a  bit rainy.

How'd I do?

I finished 4th. Official time was 21:02.

I am proud.

In case you're wondering, the other goal was to swim a 100 IM in under 1:00 and a 50 breast in under 30 second. I have 2 years to do that. I know I will.
