Carousel, and a pointer finger

We met grandma and grandpa at the mall to ride the carousel this weekend. Robby loves the ride

Yeah -- I'm looking at you

New Backpack!

With mommy out at school on Saturday, us boys had a chance to go to the mall and buy stuff! Tops on the list: a new backpack.

A Little taste of Home

As most of you know, my family is from West Virginia. My mother grew up in Fairmont, her parents as well. My father's father was from Morgantown, and my father's mother's family was from Martinsburg. Why am I telling you this? Because now that I hail from Ashford, CT, I don't have a chance to visit the Mountaineer State very often, and to get one of my favorite foods from growing up -- a West Virginia specialty known as Pepperoni Rolls. Trust me: It's a good as it sounds.

I finally decided to make some. One of the smartest things I've ever done. They came out great

Soft rolls, Slightly browned

Doughy and Moist on the inside

Good thing I only made four. This time!

Pepperoni just warmed through and juicy.

Daily Happy: Shameless Dad Blog

It was back to school time last week, which left a little more time for Daddy and Robby. We had some good times while mommy was off finishing her MBA (ETA May, 2014!)

Mommy got a new swim cap. How does he look?

Had a cold earlier in the week. Didn't even make it to the gym before he snoozed.

C'mon. Look at that hair!

New Coffee counter at the new Co-op in Storrs Center. Complete with Chocolate cookies.

Ready for bed!

Parenting Win

No one episode in a child's life defines a parent's success. A lifetime of work goes into raising a child, and most will agree that the job is never done. But, for those of you out there who think you are the best parents in the world (maybe you bought the t-shirt that says it, and a coffee mug for the office), I've got the rebuttal. Time to send another salvo in the eternal Mommy War -- prepare to question all the work you've done until now. And P.S : Don't hate the player, hate the game.

More interested in the straw than the food.

Is that Broccoli in his hand?

Is that a two year old eating broccoli?!?!

Boom! My son eats broccoli! Note the empty hand -- 'cause he ate Broccoli!
Don't believe me? Think I photo-shopped a small child eating broccoli? I thought you might say that. So, here's more evidence:

Ready

Set

Chomp!

You like broccoli? How'd you like that broccoli?!?

Seriously though -- Robby likes broccoli. And peas. He won't eat chicken. He licks the ketchup off of french fries. But he'll eat broccoli. I'll take it.

Back to School!

We've recently started looking into Pre-Schools for Robby. Amazing that it's come so fast. Either way, I figured we'd take the time on a recent non-freezing afternoon to go back to the school where it all began.

Sculpture about face

We found our way into one of the new building off of the green behind the union. It was nice and warm in there. Full of places to explore

Check out the use of copper on the columns, dad!

Lots of open staircases for Robby to climb

Roof-top garden

Getting your climb on --

Hop up and take a quick nap, dad!

You can't see me!

Couches as seats? They're crazy!

Nice stone floor throughout.

Finally, normal stairs to climb down.

Bouncy sculpture

Can't wait til spring when this isn't so cold!
