Egg Pie

A New Fritatta recipe with avocados, kalamata olives and feta cheese. It was absolutely delicious.

The meal was served with garlic bread topped with melted feta

40 lbs Sterling

While camping at Smuggler's Notch last weekend, we took a hike out of the notch up to Sterling pond -- elevation 3500 feet.

It's about 1,000 feet up and 2.2 miles. And I had 40 lbs of Robby and Supplies on my back. It took us 2 hours round trip, which is the posted average time. Not too shabby.

Robby at the Zoo

Wee went to the Roger Williams Zoo on Father's Day so that Robby could see a lot of the animals that he's been signing. It was a wonderful day: Dad's got free admission, the temperature was in the mid 80's, the park wasn't crowded, and we had a nice picnic lunch. Plus, there was a great playground and tree house for the kids.

A Nice place if you can get out there, and you can withstand the Rhode Island accents.

Choppy Chop Chop challenge

We decided recently to spice up the dinner rotation. We've looked at salads, fishes, chicken dishes, frittatas, sausages, and Pork Chops. We made three chop recipes and evaluated for adding them to the dinner list.

Here we go!

The challengers:

Mojo Chops by Guy Fieri

Nice and spicy. probably the best of the bunch. Crisped up nicely and the sauce went well.

Smothered Chops by Boom!

Eh. That's all. Eh.

Spinach Stuffed chops by big head Giada

Eh, again. Note: we eat a lot of beats. And drop a lot of beets.

The verdict:

All were good, none were great. Skip it and stick with chicken!

Not that I would not eat it, but its a lot of work for the least fatty part of the pig. I'll stick with bacon for now.
