Cuteness Alert: America's Next Top Baby Model

They're all Gorgeous, but only one Baby's got what it takes.

Let's take a look at your best shots from the day, Robby:

We asked for pensive, possible worried. I think you've captured it here with this pose. You could work on the chin placement a bit, but realistically we can't expect that until at least week twelve or so. Also, you'll need to take a more aggressive stance going forward. My grandmother always said, if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. At this point, it's probably falling for another 9 months or so.

We wanted rugged, out-of-doors, and action. Something along the lines of a travel shot. We think you came up a little short on this one. Although the expression speaks volumes: You are obviously happy to be where you are, and you're giving that award winning, if not just a bit hesitant, smile that you've become famous for. Nice blanket.  We smell what you're stepping in, Tiny Tubster!

Sophisticated and preppy was the theme of this particular challenge. You absolutely nailed it with that pose. Bling it on, Robby! We like the way you focus directly into the camera, as if there's someone on the other end that's got your attention. Is it Mommy? Daddy? A Rattle? we don't know, and that's the mystery that has us all staring back and wondering.

This picture has all the ladies wishing they could hold you and burp you and maybe even change a diaper or two. Look at that reflection: what's on his mind? He's so quiet and  thoughtful, he must be an artist or poet. Excellent work on this shot Robby. This shows me you have so many layers and you've got a lot to give.

Congratulations Robby, You're still in the running

towards becoming Americas Next Top Baby Model!

One more for good measure:

Adorable!

The Ash-fugee Vagrant Adventure, Part II

So, given our situation the first week of November, we decided that we should head south and meet up with the rest of the family (and Trimm Dogg, of course!)

Pop-Pop was especially happy to Meet Robby--

Granny had a smile on her face for three days!

And of course Dylan was happy to see his new cousin

And to chew on Morgan's new Princess Wand!

Then there's the family shots:

Happy Davis/Ege Clan--Look at all the Cousins!

Morgan was such a little princess: so gentle and cute with Robby. He was happy to meet you Morgan, and Aunt Christina and I had fun shopping with you. We can't wait to see you and Dylan again soon!

And a gratuitous Robby shot: A little dancing!

This is in the hotel in Annapolis

And then we left to head home, where we didn't yet have power and I finally snapped. I was not a happy guy sleeping in front of the fireplace again. I so hoped Danel Malloy would swing buy to chat with me. Very little talking...

And now everything is back in order, and Granny and Pop-Pop will be here for Turkey Day 2011! Stay tuned!!

The Ash-fugee Vagrant Adventure

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was Ashford,  October 29th 2011. A gentle snow began to fall on our recently doubled in size property, a rare occurrence this early in the year, but still feeling routine for a family of hardy New Englanders. Robby was enjoying his first snow.

By mid afternoon it was apparent that this storm was going to be different. Not different in the sense that there was a lot of snow or there was a lot of damage, but there was a feeling that the Governor and his cronies in Hartford were going to let us down. Don't ask me how we knew, we just did.

Then it happened.

Yup. 1 hour later we were gone!

So we headed to Madison to stay with Jim, Sue, Chris, and Nicholas. They were so great! Thanks to all of you for putting up with the Gypsies for the week--we wouldn't of made it through without you guys. And Chris's candy.

It made Christina and the Tiny Tubster quite happy!

And then we got some great drawings from Nicky--they're on the fridge--great work!

So after a week of crazy commuting in the wrong direction and an angry cat in the spare room (thanks again guys!) we headed down to Maryland to see the Davis clan.

Stay tuned for Part II

Robby's First Mass

We just got back from Robby's first Mass. We went to St. Edward's in Stafford Springs. It was a nice ride in on a beautiful fall morning. And a very lovely Church.

Mass was very nice. Mommy did a great job holding the boy in the sling. And we sat next to St. Edward and his candles. Robby was extremely well behaved: he sat quietly in his sling and enjoyed the music.

Now to planning the Baptism!

We Three Roberts

Over the weekend, the Ash-fugees continued our wandering ways by heading father south: this time to Mayo, Md. We're back home now (still no power), but settling into our old life quite well. More on that to follow.

In the mean time, I wanted to take a second to show everyone three generations of Davis men in one picture.

Ain't that a great picture!

It was exciting to show of the newest Davis to Granny and Pop-Pop, so exciting that we all felt like this:

And then we scared Dylan away in his baby mobility unit (BMU):

Check back later in the week for a summary of the great migration.

Baby Questions -- That thinking baby look

Ever wonder what a baby is thinking? We at Ashford Living do, seeing that we experience the baby stare every day. I'm figuring it goes something like this:

What was that noise? What's that smell? Who keeps talking to me? What exactly is Talking and why is everyone but me doing it? Why am I laying on the floor? Why am I so darn cute.

Where am I? Why is warm now? What's that big light?  Why does my head weigh so much? Why do they keep rolling me over? Why do my shorts weigh more now? Why can't I walk yet?

Why am I on my back now? Why are they reading to me? What is reading? When will it be time to eat? Why are they putting that in my face? Why am I not sleeping?

Where have I been? Why is it so dark? Why is my bed rocking? Who's hands are those? Why are they cold? Why are they disturbing my sleep? What's going on?

Oh, it's just Mommy. I love my Mommy. She's so good to me.

Hey Everyone: I'm Robby Davis!
